Shay MacKay

I identify as a mystical pantheist with a strong dose of religious humanism and a healthy integration of my Catholic upbringing.  I believe in a Spirit that moves through all things, in the inherent divinity of all beings, and in the responsibility of all of us - in community - to create the kind of world that respects and celebrates this divinity. This journey of faith is a long and winding path, full of surprises and unexpected gifts, sometimes joyful and sometimes lonely.  I am honored and excited to walk the path with you for a little while.

That may have been the most profound and generous ministering I have heard from any pulpit in my many years of church going.  Truly, your deep gift of honest sharing and rare ability to bring us all in, gradually, and with an embrace that held all life stories so as to impress the importance of each, while gracefully sharing your own vulnerable journey, was nothing short of astonishing. You have a powerful future ahead to minister deeply and offer that intersection of courage and compassion to a world that needs it so very much.

~ Ruth P.

I approach my ministry with intention, attention, and compassionate curiosity. By opening myself up to integration of my Catholic heritage, continued exploration of the feminine divine and pagan practices, connection with Nature and wisdom from a variety of peoples and cultures, I have been able to create a hybrid language and liturgy that is meaningful, whatever your language of the holy may be.

While our differences add flavor and depth to any relationship, what’s even more important for me is our shared grief at immense loss, our common fear of the unknown, our unexpected delight in the small things. It is through our shared experiences of deep emotion that we open up to one another in ways that relationship and transformation can occur.
